Children’s food: growing & cooking food in schools

At this meeting we discussed the way in which cooking and growing food in schools can be used to encourage children’s interest in healthy eating. Our guest speakers were: Joe Harvey of the Food for Life Partnership; Sara Jayne Stanes, the Chief Executive of the Academy of Culinary Arts; and Michael Nelson, Head of Research at the School Food Trust. Joe Harvey spoke about the Food for Life Partnership’s work to promote growing food in schools; Sara spoke about the work of the Chefs Adopt a School Trust; and Michael Nelson talked about the impact of the Let's Get Cooking campaign.
