The impact on health of vegetarian & vegan diets

At our first meeting of the year members discussed the advantages and disadvantages for health of vegetarian and vegan diets. Our guest speakers were Professor Tim Key of Oxford University, who leads the UK work on the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC study); and Maureen Strong, Nutrition Manager for the British Pig Meat Executive (BPEX) and the English Beef and Lamb Executive (EBLEX) divisions of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB).
