FHF AGM/Reconstitution meeting
14 Jul 2015 16:00-16:45
Residents Room 1, House of Lords
In accordance with the rules for Approved All Party Groups, the Forum held its first AGM/Reconstitution meeting of the new Parliament on 14 July 2015. Three new Officers were elected: Sir David Amess MP, a longstanding FHF member, became the Chair and Registered contact for the Group; and Huw Irranca-Davies MP and Lord Rooker became Vice-Chairs.
In addition to electing Officers for the year ahead and approving the draft accounts, the Officers also discussed the forward programme. It was agreed that the meeting to discuss the SACN report, Carbohydrate and Health, which had to be postponed from June would be held in October. The Officers also decided to devote the November meeting to a discussion of the issues raised by the development of flax seed genetically modified to contain Omega-3 by the Rothamsted Institute; and to hold a meeting in December to discuss diet, ME and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. All these meetings are subject to the availability of the guest speakers and will be confirmed by the Secretariat in notices to members. As always the Officers welcome suggestions from members about the subjects to be discussed at FHF meetings, so please contact the Secretariat if you would like to propose a topic.
