Community programmes to improve knowledge about food & teach cooking skills

The guest speakers at this meeting were Anna Taylor of the Food Foundation, Joanna Lewis of the Food for Life , and Jo Nicholas of the Children’s Food Trust. Anna Taylor spoke about the Food Foundation’s recent Force-Fed report, which looked at how difficult it is for typical British families to choose a healthy diet. Joanna Lewis talked about Food for Life’s work with hospitals and care homes as well as nurseries and schools. Jo Nicholas spoke about how the Children’s Food Trust are persuading children to eat well and improve their food knowledge and skills beyond the school gate and their work with looked after children, their carers and families experiencing food poverty.
