Public Sector Food Procurement & Healthy Diets

On 10 April members discussed how the public sector procurement of food and catering services can be used to promote healthy diets with Dr Francesco Branca, Director of the Department of Nutrition and Food Safety at the World Health Organisation (WHO). The meeting followed the publication earlier this year of a new Action Framework by the WHO, which provides an overview of how to develop or strengthen, implement, assess compliance with and evaluate the effectiveness of a healthy public food procurement and service policy.
